Central’s certification by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) offers an opportunity for clients to be environmentally responsible with their printed material, and to gain recognition for their responsible use of forestry products.
FSC is a worldwide agency that monitors forest management to promote conservation. It sets standards, carries out monitoring and issues certifications to forest companies that operate responsibly.
Only an FSC-certified printer such as Central Reproductions can offer the use of the “check-tree” logo, showing everyone that the paper being used is made from from responsibly managed forests, controlled and/or recycled sources. FSC tracks the wood fibres from the forest to the consumer and Central is an audited link in the chain, guaranteeing that the paper is FSC-certified.
For Central’s customers, the process is simple – just choose from a wide variety of papers that are FSC certified. The appropriate FSC logo will appear on the job, with Central’s FSC trademark license code, and we ensure that the logo meets all FSC graphics standards. FSC standards ensure that certified forest companies protect waterways and wildlife, preserve valuable forests, reduce pesticide use, consult local people, limit road construction and respect the rights of Indigenous Peoples. FSC-certified forests cannot be clear-cut for planting crops. The ecological functions and integrity of the forests must be maintained.
